Precious time

Being away from home during the day is not easy when you have such a little princess waiting for you. That's why Robert doesn't waste a second in the afternoons when he gets back from work and plays with Ximena until it's time for her to go to bed. And of course, she takes full advantage of it!

Holy Potatoes!!

We asked around who ate all the sweet potatoes and no one knows. Ximena says she doesn't even like them

A fun day with Natalia

Natalia, Ximena's eight year old cousin, spent a couple of days with us and we had a great time together. Natalia really knows how to make Ximena smile. We played a lot of songs in UTube and danced for her and she wouldn't stop smiling and moving her arms and legs. Natalia also enjoyed dressing Ximena as "Super Baby" and took pictures of her with her cape and everything else she could find around the house.

Starting on solids

We finally started Ximena on some rice cereal but she did not like it much. It was fun though seeing her make all kinds of funny faces and get her face covered with it. She liked a lot more the apple sauce Gerber she had a few days later. She was so happy eating it I was afraid she would have too much and get sick, but so far she seems to be fine. We'll try other flavors soon and maybe will get back to the cereal with some fruit this time.

An exciting month

Ximena is five months old now and she is beautiful and sweet. It has been a very exciting month for the Whyte family. She just recently rolled over for the first time and we were super excited about it. I was reading a book next to her while she was playing on her mat when I saw her trying to turn. I was really tempted to help her, but decided to let her try on her own and she did it!!! Of course I called Robert immediately and told him all about it. She still does not like to be on her tummy, but it seems like she cannot help but rolling over every time she is playing on a flat surface. The day she turned five months, she decided to sleep through the night too. That was almost as exciting as rolling over (probably more, but I guess I should not admit it). This month also, she started sitting up without support. She still needs close supervision because she loses her balance easily, but I am sure she will master this art in a few weeks. Today, we went to Ximena’s preschool for the first time and she stayed for 2 ½ hours. Wow!!! I stayed with her for a full hour though . We’ll try to go and stay for a couple of hours every day so she can get to know her teachers and classmates before she starts going for longer periods of time.
